U25 program

Levels : EV105 and up

​

Goal: Support young riders who are showing interest in high performance development in eventing for the levels EV105 and up.

​

Eligibility :

  • Riders must be aged 25 and under as of January 1st of the current season

  • Rider and horse combination must have a minimum of two CMER results in the training division or above within the past two years preceding the application (for more information on CMER, consult the EC rules)

  • Riders must have the intent of showing in the EV105 division or above this season

  • Riders must participate in a minimum of 2 sanctioned event in Quebec

 

Application process :

  • Fill the U25-Program form which includes the following:

  • Short-term plan (for the current season)

  • Medium and long-term plan : on 3 years, including medium term objectives and steps that will be taken to achieve these goals.

  • Programme de soutien au développement de l’excellence (Cheval Québec) : If not already in the program, plan to fill all the requirements and a timeline to get in the program de cheval

 

Benefits :

  • Reconnaissance dans la saison sur les médias sociaux/gala (set de critères pour reconnaissance de l’athlète U-25 qui s’est le plus illustré dans la saison)

  • Bursary of 300$ to show in a Quebec sanctioned event

  • Visibility during the season on social media/gala

  • Possibility of some financial help to participate in the North American Young Riders Championship

Definition of a Canadian Minimum Eligibility Requirement (CMER):

Minimum eligibility requirements must be obtained from a competition that has been sanctioned by a National or International Equestrian Federation (eg: Equestrian Canada, USEF, USEA, FEI)

A minimum eligibility requirement is achieved by completing a sanctioned competition within minimum parameters of all round performance as follows:

  • Not more than *45 penalty points (55%) in the Dressage Test of FEI, Equestrian Canada Eventing and USEF competitions

  • 0 jumping penalties at obstacles on the Cross Country Test, (activating one frangible/deformable device will maintain MER result on cross country) · Not more than 75 seconds exceeding the optimum time or no more than 30 time penalty points in the cross country test.

  • Not more than 16 penalties at obstacles in the Jumping Test.

U25

Pre-U25 program

Level : Training

​

Goal: Support young riders who are showing interest going up the levels of eventing.

 

Eligibility :

  • Riders must be aged 25 and under as of January 1st of the current season

  • Rider and horse combination must have a completed at least 1 event in the training division at the time of the application

  • Riders must have the intent of showing in the training division this season or above

  • Riders must participate in a minimum of 2 sanctioned event in Quebec

 

Application process :

  • Fill the Pre-U25-Program form which includes the following:

  • Short-term plan (for the current season)

  • Medium and long-term plan : on 3 years, including medium term objectives and steps that will be taken to achieve these goals.

  • Programme de soutien au développement de l’excellence (Cheval Québec) : If not already in the program, plan to fill all the requirements and a timeline to get in the program de cheval

 

Benefits :

  • Great pathway to be in the U25-Program the following year

  • Visibility on social media and at the gala
